One Star - Jungstötter (2023)

Eccolo qua il "difficile secondo disco" per Fabian Altstötter aka Jungstötter. Enigmatico, se volete ancor più sperimentale rispetto allo splendido debutto del 2019 Love Is, del quale parlammo anche in occasione del suo concerto in apertura dell'amica carissima Soap&Skin. I riferimenti sono gli stessi che usai la volta scorsa (Antony/Anohni, Nick Cave), ma anche un altro che non mi venne in mente (David Sylvian), a livello vocale, timbro e impostazione, altri lo accostano a Scott Walker e addirittura qualcuno scomoda perfino Bowie, quel che è sicuro è che i paragoni sono alti, quindi avrete capito che siamo in un territorio che genera aspettative molto alte. Art pop e/o chamber pop, come che sia, dieci tracce affascinanti, intriganti, sinuose, un altro gran bel lavoro.

The references are the same ones I used last time (Antony/Anohni, Nick Cave), but also another one that didn't come to mind (David Sylvian), in terms of vocals, timbre and setting, others compare him to Scott Walker and even someone even bothers Bowie, what is certain is that the comparisons are high, so you will have understood that we are in a territory that generates very high expectations. Art pop and/or chamber pop, as it may be, ten fascinating, intriguing, sinuous tracks, another great work.
