Cari pochissimi ma fedelissimi di fassbinder, già sapete che qua seguiamo fin dagli esordi la band inglese misteriosa e mascherata. Già sapete che, davanti al loro secondo lavoro, non esitammo a criticarli, sperando che comunque fosse un passaggio. Ebbene, siamo (ormai sono in preda al plurale maiestatico, giusto per dare maggior enfasi alla dichiarazione che sta arrivando) felici di averci preso: Take Me Back to Eden, dodici tracce delle quali ben sei già edite, come di consueto, per un totale di 63 minuti e 26 secondi, è senza dubbio, senza possibilità di smentita alcuna, senza indugi, IL disco dell'anno 2023. Funk, elettronica, black metal, djent, metalcore, trap, pop, RNB, progressive, blues: come già detto, gli Sleep Token spostano le frontiere del metal. Il fatto che pochi giorni fa, 10mila biglietti per il loro concerto di metà dicembre 2023 alla Wembley Arena siano andati esauriti in circa 10 minuti, ci dà speranza: esistono persone che capiscono. Perdoniamo loro un plagio zeppeliniano su Are You Really Okay? e una autocitazione strumentale sulla coda della conclusiva, emozionantissima Euclid, e inchiniamoci davanti a questo disco impressionante. Worship.

You already know that, in front of their second work, we didn't hesitate to criticize them, hoping that it was just a transition. Well, we are (by now I am in the grip of the majestic plural, just to give greater emphasis to the declaration that is coming) happy to have guessed: Take Me Back to Eden, twelve tracks of which no less than six have already been published, as usual, for a total of 63 minutes and 26 seconds, it is undoubtedly, without the possibility of denying any, without delay, THE record of the year 2023. Funk, electronic, black metal, djent, metalcore, trap, pop, RNB, progressive, blues: as already said, Sleep Token move the frontiers of metal. The fact that a few days ago, 10,000 tickets for their mid-December 2023 concert at Wembley Arena sold out in about 10 minutes gives us hope: there are people who understand. Let's forgive them for a Zeppelin plagiarism on Are You Really Okay? and an instrumental self-quotation on the tail of the final, very emotional Euclid, and let's bow down before this impressive record.
