This Place Will Become Your Tomb - Sleep Token (2021)

Kerrang dà altre due definizioni che si avvicinano a quella che usai io per descrivere gli Sleep Token in occasione dello stupendo debutto Sundowning: "Chris Martin dei Coldplay cresciuto ascoltando i Deftones" e "James Blake cresciuto ascoltando gli Slipknot" (la prima è presa da un commento su YouTube). Purtroppo, devo concordare con l'amico Beach sul fatto che questo secondo This Place Will Become Your Tomb non è esattamente ispirato quando il già citato debutto, la maggioranza delle dodici tracce non è all'altezza di 3/4 molto belle, ma è innegabile che questo collettivo mascherato agli ordini del "sacerdote" Vessel (voce e piano) abbia un marchio di fabbrica che sta spostando i confini del metal. Quindi, per arrivare velocemente alla conclusione, dirò che questo secondo disco contiene dei momenti estremamente belli, ma è un po' come un coito interrotto: bellissimi passaggi incompleti, che lasciano spesso l'amaro in bocca perché ormai sappiamo che potrebbe essere un orgasmo musicale di quasi un'ora.

Kerrang gives two other definitions that are close to the one I used to describe Sleep Token on the occasion of the wonderful Sundowning debut: "Coldplay’s Chris Martin if he grew up listening to Deftones" and "James Blake raised on Slipknot" (the first is taken from a comment on YouTube). Unfortunately, I have to agree with my friend Beach that this second This Place Will Become Your Tomb is not exactly inspired when the aforementioned debut, the majority of the twelve tracks are not up to the 3/4 very nice, but it is undeniable that this masked collective under the orders of "priest" Vessel (voice and piano) has a trademark that is pushing the boundaries of metal. So, to get to the conclusion quickly, I will say that this second album contains some extremely beautiful moments, but it is a bit like an interrupted coitus: beautiful incomplete passages, which often leave a bad taste in the mouth because by now we know that it could have been a musical orgasm of almost an hour.
