Erebos - Venom Prison (2022)
Nonostante conti "solo" 7 anni di vita, la band gallese ha, con questo nuovissimo Erebos, quattro album all'attivo e due EP. Capitanati da Larissa Stupar, che oltre ad essere una signorina ha la particolarità di essere nata in Russia, alla voce (e che voce!), sono interpreti di un death metal dal sapore classico, che con il tempo e con i dischi ha mantenuto la sua pesantezza incrociata con hardcore punk e grindcore, ma si è lasciato sempre più abbellire con stacchi ed assoli decisamente ispirati all'heavy metal classico, soprattutto di ispirazione NWOBHM. Particolarità, le liriche, tutte scritte da un punto di vista femminile, sono il riflesso dell'attivismo di Larissa a livello di animalismo e antifascismo. Ottimo disco per chi odia le ballate.
Despite having "only" 7 years of life, the Welsh band has, with this brand new Erebos, four albums and two EPs. Led by Larissa Stupar, who in addition to being a young lady has the particularity of being born in Russia, at the voice (and what a voice!), they are interpreters of a death metal with a classic flavor, which over time and with the records has maintained its heaviness crossed with hardcore punk and grindcore, but it let itself be embellished more and more with deadlifts and solos definitely inspired by classic heavy metal, especially NWOBHM-inspired. Peculiarity, the lyrics, all written from a female point of view, are a reflection of Larissa's activism at the level of animalism and anti-fascism. Great record for those who hate ballads.
