VI - Spidergawd (2021)

Negli ultimi anni, i norvegesi hanno allentato un poco il ritmo, nel senso delle date di pubblicazione dei loro album: dopo aver fatto uscire i primi quattro album in quattro anni, adesso, con gli ultimi due, sono passati a due anni. Eccoci arrivati al loro sesto, ovviamente intitolato VI. Possiamo dire che si è persa un po' la tendenza psichedelica, che li portava ad inserire almeno una traccia molto dilatata, solitamente nella seconda parte degli album: questo disco è composto da otto tracce tutte sotto i sei minuti di durata. Rimane però la robustezza del suono, paradossalmente dovuta in gran parte dal sax che sostiene le chitarre, la gioia del rock suonato a velocità sostenuta, la ricerca costante della melodia, le composizioni sempre assolutamente piacevoli. E' sempre un heavy rock di superba fattura, il loro, ed ascoltare i loro dischi è sempre soddisfacente.

In recent years, the Norwegians have eased the pace a little, in the sense of their album release dates: after releasing the first four albums in four years, now, with the last two, they have gone to two years. Here we are at their sixth, obviously entitled VI. We can say that the psychedelic tendency has been lost a bit, which led them to insert at least one very dilated track, usually in the second part of the albums: this disc is composed of eight tracks all under six minutes in duration. However, the robustness of the sound remains, paradoxically due in large part to the sax that supports the guitars, the joy of rock played at high speed, the constant search for melody, the compositions that are always absolutely pleasant. It's always superbly crafted heavy rock, theirs, and listening to their records is always satisfying.
