Recupero questo album del 2023, sempre (come avrete a questo punto intuito) nell'ambito di una lista di segnalazioni di band emergenti e da tenere d'occhio per il prossimo futuro. Gli Himalayas vengono da Cardiff, Galles, e hanno all'attivo, oltre a questo album, alcuni singoli e anche un recente (2024) EP. Mi ricordano moltissimo i primi Arctic Monkeys, e non posso che goderne (non ho amato per nulla la loro carriera più recente): canzoni brevi, approccio garage rock, riff diretti e ritornelli che arrivano dritti alla testa, voce graffiante. Accattivanti.
I'm recovering this album from 2023, always (as you may have guessed at this point) in the context of a list of reports of emerging bands to keep an eye on for the near future. The Himalayas come from Cardiff, Wales, and have under their belt, in addition to this album, some singles and also a recent (2024) EP. They remind me a lot of the early Arctic Monkeys, and I can only enjoy them (I didn't like their more recent career at all): short songs, garage rock approach, direct riffs and choruses that get straight to the head, scratchy vocals. Catchy.
