II - Blackbraid (2023)
Vengo a conoscenza di questo progetto da uno dei miei pusher musicali un poco tardi, ma in fondo, questo è "solo" il secondo album. Blackbaird è un progetto solista di Jon Krieger, un nativo americano conosciuto con il suo pseudonimo Sgah'gahsowáh, un nome Mohawk che significa "il falco strega". Liriche ispirate sia dal genocidio dei nativi americani, sia, proprio perché proveniente da un nativo americano, al tentativo di far riconnettere l'ascoltatore con la natura. La musica è un black metal che crea un connubio tra quello scandinavo e il folk/pagan di ispirazione est europea, ottimamente prodotto e suonato. Un gran bel disco.
I learned about this project from one of my music pushers a little late, but basically, this is "only" the second album. Blackbaird is a solo project by Jon Krieger, a Native American known by his pseudonym Sgah'gahsowáh, a Mohawk name meaning "the witch hawk". Lyrics inspired both by the genocide of Native Americans and, precisely because they come from a Native American, by the attempt to reconnect the listener with nature. The music is a black metal that creates a marriage between Scandinavian and Eastern European-inspired folk / pagan, excellently produced and played. A great disc.
