Sesto disco, sotto il nome d'arte di Moltheni, per Umberto Maria Giardini, che improvvisamente, per motivi che non è tenuto a spiegarci, dopo una parentesi di circa dieci anni durante i quali ha usato il suo nome di battesimo, ed è passato attraverso le esperienze dei Pineda e di Stella Maris, ha deciso di riesumare. Direi che ci sono due cose fondamentali da sottolineare. La prima è che poca è la differenza tra lo stile Moltheni e quello UMG (abbiamo ancora nelle orecchie Forma Mentis, del 2019, il che tra l'altro sottolinea che l'amico Umberto, dopo oltre 20 anni di attività musicale, è ancora prolifico e piuttosto instancabile), se vogliamo proprio dare delle coordinate, quello UMG è sicuramente più hard rock e leggermente meno cantautoriale. La seconda è che, appunto dopo oltre 20 anni, Umberto barra Moltheni è una realtà non ignorabile del panorama musicale italiano, ha uno stile ben definito, che naturalmente si rifà a diversi riferimenti, ma che è riuscito a personalizzare fortemente fino a creare un marchio di fabbrica inequivocabile. La conclusione è che, siccome riesce pure a scrivere sempre canzoni ben fatte, UMG o Moltheni che sia, lo accoglieremo sempre con il sorriso sulle labbra, ed ascolteremo cosa ci "racconta".

I would say that there are two fundamental things to underline. The first is that there is little difference between the Moltheni and UMG styles (we still have Forma Mentis, from 2019, in our ears, which among other things underlines that our friend Umberto, after more than 20 years of musical activity, is still prolific and rather tireless), if we really want to give some coordinates, the UMG one is certainly more hard rock and slightly less "cantautoriale" (Italian for singer / songwriter). The second is that, after more than 20 years, Umberto slash Moltheni is a non-ignorable reality of the Italian music scene, has a well-defined style, which naturally refers to various references, but which he has managed to personalize strongly to create a brand unequivocal. The conclusion is that, since he also manages to always write well-made songs, UMG or Moltheni, we will always welcome him with a smile on our lips, and listen to what he "tells us".
