L'amico ritrovato - Fred Uhlman (1971)Il libro racconta l'impossibile amicizia tra il narratore Hans Schwarz, figlio di un medico ebreo, e Konradin von Hohenfels, un giovane aristocratico, durante l'ascesa del regime nazista (nel 1932) a Stoccarda.
Grande classico (l'ho letto in prestito da mio nipote, al quale lo hanno assegnato come lettura estiva alle scuole superiori), con poche pagine e una storia breve ma decisamente intensa, dipinge con tinte agrodolci una delle più grandi tragedie dell'umanità, della quale non dobbiamo perdere memoria. Speriamo che qualche giovane ne colga l'essenza.
Great classic (I read it on loan from my nephew, to whom they assigned it as a summer reading in high school), with a few pages and a short but decidedly intense story, it paints one of humanity's greatest tragedies with bittersweet colors, of which we must not lose memory. We hope that some young people will grasp its essence.
