Allsighr - Sarke (2021)
Non parlavamo della band norvegese dal loro secondo album Oldarhian del 2011. La band ha avuto alcuni cambi di formazione, ma la spina dorsale, formata da Nocturno Culto (Darkthrone) alla voce, e da Sarke stesso al basso (dal 2011, dopo essere stato alla chitarra, lasciando il posto a Steinar Gundersen), è ancora al suo posto. Lo stile è ancora quello che avevamo apprezzato, appunto nel 2011: a tratti possiamo definirlo black and roll, c'è black metal, c'è un po' di thrash metal, ci sono le tastiere quindi c'è del progressive, ci sono le classiche reminiscenze di Celtic Frost e, ancor più tra le righe, di Black Sabbath, ma certamente non solo quelle. Ci sono "sapori" diversi, tra i più disparati, e certamente non siamo di fronte ad un album convenzionale di metal "oscuro". Questo è sicuramente quello che lo rende interessante.
We weren't talking about the Norwegian band from their second album Oldarhian in 2011. The band had some lineup changes, but the backbone, formed by Nocturno Culto (Darkthrone) on vocals, and Sarke himself on bass (since 2011, after being on guitar, giving way to Steinar Gundersen), is still in place. The style is still what we appreciated, precisely in 2011: at times we can define it black and roll, there is black metal, there is a bit of thrash metal, there are keyboards so there is progressive, there are the classic reminiscences of Celtic Frost and, even more between the lines, of Black Sabbath, but certainly not only those. There are different "flavors", among the most disparate, and certainly we are not dealing with a conventional album of "dark" metal. This is definitely what makes it interesting.
