Start With A Strong And Persistent Desire - Vex Red (2002)
Oggi facciamo un lungo passo indietro, e torniamo al 2002. Lo faccio anche per una sorta di tentativo di redenzione, visto che fino alla segnalazione di alcuni amici, non avevo mai "incrociato il cammino" con i Vex Red, band proveniente da Aldershot, UK, e formatasi nel 1995. Dopo un paio di demo, qualche singolo che lo anticipava, nel 2002 appunto uscirono con questo Start with a Strong and Persistent Desire, che a tutt'oggi, nonostante si siano sciolti nel 2005 e riformati nel 2015 (due anni fa hanno fatto uscire un EP), rimane il loro unico album. Un bel disco, davvero, che "odora" di Helmet, Bush, Nine Inch Nails, scie di grunge mescolate a metal ed industrial, ed una sapiente mano compositiva. Da (ri)scoprire.
Today we take a long step back, and go back to 2002. I also do it for a sort of attempt at redemption, since until the mention of some friends, I had never "crossed paths" with Vex Red, a band from Aldershot, UK, and formed in 1995. After a couple of demos, some singles that anticipated it, in 2002 they came out with this Start with a Strong and Persistent Desire, which to this day, despite having dissolved in 2005 and reformed in 2015 ( two years ago they released an EP), it remains their only album. A really nice record that "smells" of Helmet, Bush, Nine Inch Nails, grunge trails mixed with metal and industrial, and a skilful compositional hand. To (re) discover.
