Vagabon - Vagabon (2019)
Laetitia Tamko aka Vagabon, nasce a Yaoundé, Camerun, 28 anni fa. All'età di 13 anni si trasferisce a New York, per permettere a sua madre di frequentare un'università di Legge. Conoscendo il francese, impara velocemente l'inglese e frequenta le scuola. A 17 anni i suoi genitori le comprano una chitarra elettrica da Costco, e lei impara a suonarla seguendo un DVD di istruzioni. Nel 2014 comincia a caricare sue composizioni su Bandcamp; impara a cantare, a suonare batteria, synth, tastiere, e nel 2017 pubblica il suo debutto Infinite Worlds. L'anno seguente viene invitata ad aprire i concerti di Courtney Barnett. Nel 2019 esce questo secondo disco, con liriche femministe, e dove musicalmente esplora maggiormente suoni elettronici. Belle composizioni, delicate, sospese tra folk e, appunto, elettronica.
Laetitia Tamko aka Vagabon, was born in Yaoundé, Cameroon, 28 years ago. At the age of 13, she moved to New York to allow her mother to attend a law university. Knowing French, she quickly learns English and goes to school. At 17, her parents buy her an electric guitar from Costco, and she learns to play it by following an instructional DVD. In 2014 she starts uploading her compositions to Bandcamp; she learns to sing, to play drums, synths, keyboards, and in 2017 she releases her debut Infinite Worlds. The following year she was invited to open Courtney Barnett's concerts. In 2019 this second album comes out, with feminist lyrics, and where she musically explores more electronic sounds. Beautiful compositions, delicate, suspended between folk and, in fact, electronics.
