Star Treatment - Wovenhand (2016)

Ottavo album per la creatura di David Eugene Edwards, un personaggio che, in un certo qual modo, mette in prosa, nelle sue liriche, una fede dai lati oscuri, un po' come un certo Nick Cave in alcuni frangenti. Dal punto di vista musicale, invece, siamo in un campo un po' diverso, anche se in definitiva, non troppo distante. Se avete presente i Me and That Man, e quindi tutti i riferimenti di quel tipo, da quello già citato insieme a Johnny Cash e Leonard Cohen, come pure da Cure, Mission, Fields of Nephilim, quella dark wave là, avrete già un'idea di come si posizionino i Wovenhand musicalmente. Musica asimmetrica ma evocativa, sciamanica se vogliamo usare un aggettivo che vuol dire tutto e niente, ma senza dubbio, da ascoltare con un certo piacere misto a dolore.

From the musical point of view, however, we are in a somewhat different field, although ultimately not too far away. If you know Me and That Man, and therefore all the references of that type, from the one already mentioned together with Johnny Cash and Leonard Cohen, as well as from Cure, Mission, Fields of Nephilim, that dark wave there, you will already have an idea of how Wovenhand are positioned musically. Asymmetrical but evocative music, shamanic if we want to use an adjective that means everything and nothing, but without a doubt, to be listened to with a certain pleasure mixed with pain.
