Giuda e il messia nero

Judas and the Black Messiah - Di Shaka King (2021)

The young director with only one not so well known feature film dating back to 2013, takes on a great responsibility, choosing to tell a cross-section of recent US history, linked to institutional racism, but proves to be largely up to it. The cast is vast (so vast, you think, that the two protagonists have both been nominated for an Oscar, but in the category of Best Supporting Actor), well chosen and all up to it as well as well directed, but, given that many critics have approached the story and the film at The Trial of the Chicago 7 of the previous year (also because the production is Netflix for both), personally this film has excited me less. It's probably a totally subjective impression, because Judah and the Black Messiah was nominated for 6 Oscars and won 2.
