Pain Remains - Lorna Shore (2022)
Come potrete "ricostruire" facendo una piccola ricerca e controllando le recensioni dei dischi precedenti della band del New Jersey, mi sono avvicinato ai Lorna Shore solo un paio di anni fa, con il terzo album Immortal, ma mi sono incuriosito con l'EP ...And I Return to Nothingness, dove Will Ramos veniva confermato ed inglobato in forma ufficiale nella formazione, dopo essere subentrato come rimpiazzo live. Con questo Pain Remains, i Lorna Shore si candidano ad entrare nel novero delle mie band preferite del momento, facendomi vincere perfino l'innata ritrosia verso il symphonic metal. Il talento di Ramos è immenso, e chi riesce ad apprezzare il cantato di questo genere non può negarlo. La band, nonostante molti cambi di formazione nel giro di 13 anni, è sorprendentemente coesa e tecnicamente superba, e suona come un macigno in discesa, travolgendo l'ascoltatore e lasciandolo senza fiato. Un disco grandioso.
As you can "reconstruct" by doing a little research and checking the reviews of the previous records of the New Jersey band, I approached Lorna Shore only a couple of years ago, with the third album Immortal, but I got curious with the EP ...And I Return to Nothingness, where Will Ramos was officially confirmed and incorporated into the line-up, after taking over as a live replacement. With this Pain Remains, Lorna Shore are candidates to join the ranks of my favorite bands of the moment, making me even win the innate reluctance towards symphonic metal. Ramos' talent is immense, and those who can appreciate singing of this genre cannot deny it. The band, despite many line-up changes over the span of 13 years, is surprisingly cohesive and technically superb, and sounds like a boulder downhill, overwhelming the listener and taking his breath away. A great record.
