(mutilator.) - Gatherers (2022)

Proseguendo con le rimanenze del 2022 (siamo quasi in fondo), eccoci ad un disco che mi pento di non aver approfondito prima. Il quarto album della band di Bayonne, New Jersey è di quelli che non raccontano niente di nuovo, ma che ti prendono alle viscere e ti fanno piangere. L'amico Beach fa notare correttamente che, insieme ai Loathe, danno vita ad una sorta di revival dei Deftones (che, curiosamente, sono ancora in attività), ed è vero, soprattutto nella prima parte del disco. Inutile sottolineare cose che sentirete senza bisogno di suggerimenti, il post hardcore, l'intreccio screamo e le bellissime melodie, ma c'è pure altro, come ad esempio, il fatto che suffocator sembri una State of Love and Trust dei Pearl Jam resa al passo con i tempi, o altre influenze che spesso possono anche variare soggettivamente. Rimane il fatto che (mutilator.) ha un suono che spacca e melodie che commuovono.

Continuing with the remains of 2022 (we are almost at the bottom), here we are with a disc that I regret not having deepened sooner. The fourth album of the band from Bayonne, New Jersey is one of those that don't tell anything new, but that take you to the gut and make you cry. My friend Beach correctly points out that, together with Loathe, they give life to a sort of revival of the Deftones (who, curiously, are still active), and it is true, especially in the first part of the album. Needless to point out things that you will hear without prompting, the post hardcore, the screamo weave and the beautiful melodies, but there is also more, such as, for example, the fact that suffocator sounds like a State of Love and Trust by Pearl Jam rendered pace with the times, or other influences which can often also vary subjectively. The fact remains that (mutilator.) has a massive sound and moving melodies.
