Quando vi ho parlato del suo disco precedente, mi sono dimenticato di aggiungere un particolare "romantico": sia Titanic Rising che questo And in the Darkness, Hearts Aglow (titolo oltremodo poetico) sono usciti per l'etichetta Sub Pop, etichetta che, diciamo la verità, ci fa tornare tutti un po' più giovani. Curiosamente, ma forse neppure troppo, la cantautrice sostiene che entrambi fanno parte di una trilogia. Testi raffinati come la musica, abbiamo già deciso che ci va bene la definizione chamber pop, anche questo risulta un album delicatissimo e di gran classe, al quale dovrebbero guardare (leggi: ascoltare) alcuni sostenitori della musica al femminile che sono rimasti ancorati ad artiste come (ne cito una a caso) St. Vincent: raga svegliatevi, che rischiate di accorgervi di Weyes Blood quando sarà già bollita.

Lyrics as refined as the music, we have already decided that the definition chamber pop is fine for us, this too is a very delicate and classy album, to which some supporters of female music should look (read: listen) who have remained anchored to female artists like (I'm mentioning one at random) St. Vincent: guys wake up, you risk noticing Weyes Blood when she'll be already boiled.
