Big Time - Angel Olsen (2022)

Il sesto disco dell'artista statunitense arriva dopo alcuni accadimenti importanti per lei (la morte di entrambi genitori adottivi ed il suo coming out come persona gay, tutte cose del 2021), e segna una sorta di slittamento musicale verso una specie di country alternativo, estremamente elegante. E' evidente che il coming out ha agito in maniera liberatoria, perché le liriche, sempre profonde e riflessive, sono ottimistiche, così come la musica, leggermente più solare. Se tenete conto delle sue grandi capacità compositive, e ascolterete questo disco, non potrà non piacervi, anche se magari amate, come me, sonorità molto più ruvide e potenti. Un gran bel disco. 

The sixth album by the American artist comes after some important events for her (the death of both adoptive parents and her coming out as a gay person, all things happened in 2021), and marks a sort of musical shift towards a kind of alternative country, extremely elegant. It is clear that the coming out acted in a liberating way, because the lyrics, always deep and reflective, are optimistic, as is the music, which is slightly more sunny. If you take into account her great compositional skills, and you listen to this record, you can't help but like it, even if you love, like me, much rougher and more powerful sounds. A great record.
