Noctiluca - Helms Alee (2019)
Il quinto disco della band di Seattle, Washington (per le "note biografiche" vi rimando alla recensione del disco precedente Stillicide del 2016), che arrivo a recensirvi con colpevole ritardo, è la conferma della bontà del lavoro di questo power trio, che per il fatto di essere composto per due terzi da donne, mi ha fatto venire in mente la definizione improvvisata di Melvins al femminile. Amenità a parte, Play Dead è una delizia per orecchie abituate a sonorità ruvide, e Noctiluca nella sua interezza è hard rock moderno da non sottovalutare per nessun motivo.
The fifth album by the band from Seattle, Washington (for the "biographical notes" I refer you to the review of the previous album Stillicide of 2016), which I come to review with guilty delay, is the confirmation of the goodness of the work of this power trio, the fact that it is made up of two thirds of women popped up to me of the impromptu definition of "feminine Melvins". Nonsense aside, Play Dead is a delight for ears accustomed to harsh sounds, and Noctiluca in its entirety is modern hard rock not to be underestimated for any reason.
