Echoes from Deep November - Fires in the Distance (2020)
E' un debutto, quantomeno a livello di album, questo Echos from Deep November, da parte del quartetto di base a Newington, Connecticut. Ed è un debutto interessante: siamo di fronte ad un doom / death metal molto melodico, arricchito da campionamenti e da synth d'atmosfera piuttosto eleganti e mai pacchiani, come alcune band di symphonic metal ci hanno abituato. Si nota una buona tecnica, degli ottimi assoli che, come sempre in questi casi, fanno tornare in mente i gloriosi fasti della NWOBHM (scusate, so che la cito spesso, ma è innegabile quanto abbia influenzato il metal a venire), un certo gusto epico. Ben fatto.
Echos from Deep November is a debut, at least on an album level, by the quartet based in Newington, Connecticut. And it is an interesting debut: we are facing a very melodic doom / death metal, enriched by samples and by rather elegant and never tacky atmospheric synths, as some symphonic metal bands have accustomed us to. There is a good technique, excellent solos that, as always in these cases, bring to mind the glorious glories of the NWOBHM (sorry, I know I often quote it, but it is undeniable how much it influenced the metal to come), a certain taste epic. Well done.
