Il lavoro del 2020 della band basata a Bloomington, Indiana, è tecnicamente un EP, anche se le sette tracce sono proposte anche interamente in versione strumentale, portando così il totale a quattordici. Lavorando per sottrazione, scompaiono chitarre amplificate e batteria, rimane la voce delicata e quasi sofferente di Nathan Kane, che canta di sensazioni di inadeguatezza, abusi religiosi, perdite varie, fin dal titolo. C'è il piano, ci sono degli arrangiamenti orchestrali perfino, oltre alla chitarra acustica. Un disco bello, delicato, di quelli che ti toccano nel profondo.
The 2020 work by the Bloomington, Indiana-based band is technically an EP, although the seven tracks are also offered entirely in instrumental versions, thus bringing the total to fourteen. Working by subtraction, amplified guitars and drums disappear, the delicate and almost suffering voice of Nathan Kane remains, singing of feelings of inadequacy, religious abuse, various losses, right from the title. There is the piano, there are even orchestral arrangements, beyond the acoustic guitar. A beautiful, delicate record, one of those that touch you deeply.
