Forge Your Future - Spirit Adrift (2021)
Gli Spirit Adrift nascono nel 2015 come progetto solista del polistrumentista Nate Garrett, ex Gatecreeper, un po' come buon proposito dopo la ritrovata sobrietà. In questo pur breve tempo, la band ha già subito tre cambi di formazione, ma ha fatto uscire ben quattro album e tre EP. Questo di cui parliamo oggi è appunto il terzo, uscito da pochissimo, tre tracce per un totale di quasi 20 minuti di un heavy metal molto classico, vagamente accostabile al genere dei The Sword. Ottima tecnica e buon songwriting, le tracce riportano un vecchio metallaro come me, indietro di 40 anni, ma con un suono e una produzione molto migliore.
Spirit Adrift was born in 2015 as a solo project by multi-instrumentalist Nate Garrett, formerly of Gatecreeper, a bit as a good resolution after the newfound sobriety. In this short time, the band has already undergone three line-up changes, but released four albums and three EPs. This one we are talking about today is precisely the third, recently released, three tracks for a total of almost 20 minutes of a very classic heavy metal, vaguely comparable to the genre of The Sword. Great technique and good songwriting, the tracks take an old metalhead like me back 40 years, but with much better sound and production.
