God Is Partying - Andrew WK (2021)
Sesto disco per Andrew W.K. e la sua band, stile che non cambia granché dal precedente You're Not Alone del 2018, se si eccettua il fatto che, ascoltandolo, mi sono reso conto che oltre all'hard rock tendente alla rock opera, Andrew deve molto anche a Bruce Springsteen (I Made It). Dodici tracce per oltre 50 minuti di musica (in realtà sono undici, Everybody Sins è presente in apertura nella versione "completa", ed in chiusura nella versione Radio Edit), canzoni sempre piuttosto coinvolgenti, l'impressione generale è però un po' meno brillante del disco precedente. Oppure mi sono stancato io.
Sixth disc for Andrew W.K. and his band, a style that does not change much from the previous You're Not Alone of 2018, except for the fact that, listening to him, I realized that in addition to hard rock tending towards rock opera, Andrew also owes a lot to Bruce Springsteen (I Made It). Twelve tracks for over 50 minutes of music (in reality there are eleven, Everybody Sins is present at the opening in the "complete" version, and at the end in the Radio Edit version), songs that are always quite engaging, but the overall impression is a little less brilliant of the previous record. Or I got tired.
