E con questo The Ultra Vivid Lament la band gallese arriva all'album numero 14. Sono lontani i fasti di fine anni '90, il loro periodo più bello, probabilmente, ma il trio, oggi tutti ultra-cinquantenni, tira dritto portando avanti il loro pop militante, a mio giudizio con grande dignità. Nella versione deluxe, questo disco contiene 24 tracce, undici nella versione "regolare" e di ognuna, la versione "demo", con l'eccezione di Don't Let the Night Divide Us, che ha ben due versioni demo diverse. C'è sempre, oltre alla militanza delle liriche, una sensazione romantica e malinconica, nelle loro canzoni, una sorta di allegria amara, e pure se non ci sono grandissime hit, anche questo disco è, mi ripeto, più che dignitoso. Special guests Mark Lanegan e Julia Cumming. 

And with this The Ultra Vivid Lament the Welsh band arrives at album number 14. The glories of the late 90s are far away, their most beautiful period, probably, but the trio, now all over fifty, goes straight on carrying on the their militant pop, in my opinion with great dignity. In the deluxe version, this disc contains 24 tracks, eleven in the "regular" version and of each, the "demo" version, with the exception of Don't Let the Night Divide Us, which has two different demo versions. There is always, in addition to the militancy of the lyrics, a romantic and melancholy feeling, in their songs, a sort of bitter joy, and even if there are no great hits, even this record is, I repeat, more than dignified.
