Screen Violence - Chvrches (2021)
Il quarto album per la band di Glasgow, segna musicalmente un po' il passo. Niente più di dieci brani di synth pop piacevoli, che come al solito mettono in evidenza soprattutto la bella voce di Lauren Mayberry, ma non c'è, come mi aspettavo, forse in maniera troppo ottimista, un salto di qualità. Si sono fatti un nome, questo è vero, altrimenti non avremmo il piacere di ascoltare nientemeno che Robert Smith come ospite su How Not to Drown, e ribadisco che il disco è piacevole, ma purtroppo, dimenticabile.
The fourth album for the Glasgow band musically is not marking a step up. No more than ten pleasant synth pop songs, which as usual highlight above all the beautiful voice of Lauren Mayberry, but there is not, as I expected, perhaps in a too optimistic way, a qualitative leap. They have made a name for themselves, this is true, otherwise we would not have the pleasure of listening to none other than Robert Smith as a guest on How Not to Drown, and I repeat that the record is pleasant, but unfortunately, forgettable.
