Dovrebbe essere indicativamente il trentesimo album in studio, questo Meu Coco, per quello che è probabilmente il musicista brasiliano più famoso nel mondo, nato a Santo Amaro da Purificação, nello stato di Bahia (Brasile, ovviamente), 79 anni fa. Straordinariamente lucido, per essere un quasi ottantenne, Veloso non rinuncia al suo stile classico pop folk con arrangiamenti spesso sontuosi, alternati alla sua bossa nova tropicale, ma parla di presente e spesso di futuro, criticando la gestione odierna del suo Paese, e rivolgendosi ai giovani, perfino a quelli che devono ancora nascere, sempre con fare gentile e delicato.

Extraordinarily lucid, for an almost eighty-year-old, Veloso does not give up his classic pop folk style with often sumptuous arrangements, alternating with his tropical bossa nova, but speaks of the present and often of the future, criticizing the current management of his country, and addressing young people, even to those who have yet to be born, always with a gentle and delicate attitude.
