Gadzooks Vol. 1 - Caleb Landry Jones (2021)
Sono rimasto sorpreso, ma questo è addirittura il secondo album per Caleb Landry Jones, giovane attore texano che ci ha abituato a ruoli piuttosto particolari, con quel viso che può andare dall'angelico al demoniaco. E vi sorprenderà ancora di più il fatto che il suo genere sia decisamente indefinibile, totalmente sperimentale, assolutamente rischioso ed incasellabile. Il debutto The Mother Stone, uscito giusto l'anno scorso, veniva definito come psychedelic rock, e si, in effetti ci può stare. Ci sono decisamente delle reminiscenze dei Beatles di Sgt. Pepper's, e credetemi, a tratti sembra di ascoltare la voce di Bowie, non tanto per il timbro quanto per l'atteggiamento. Ma non solo. Un disco davvero asimmetrico, ma sicuramente non casuale.

The debut The Mother Stone, released just last year, was defined as psychedelic rock, and yes, in fact it can be. There are definitely reminiscences of the Beatles of Sgt. Pepper's, and believe me, at times it seems to hear Bowie's voice, not so much for the timbre as for the attitude. But not only. A truly asymmetrical record, but certainly not for a case.
