Nono album in studio per la band canadese, veterani del death metal super tecnico e decisamente brutale. Come spesso accade, e come tutto sommato è abbastanza normale, c'è un unico "superstite" della prima formazione (e in realtà, non era nella formazione originale, ma è vero che all'epoca avevano un'altra denominazione), il batterista (fenomeno, diciamo la verità) Flo Mounier. Dato che è la prima volta che ve ne parlo (seppure li avessi ascoltati in precedenza, non con costanza, questo è vero), per darvi un quadro generale, concordo con quello che dicono la maggioranza dei critici: i Cryptopsy sono una di quelle band che sacrifica decisamente la melodia a favore della violenza sonora. Eppure, c'è razionalità nel caos.
This is the ninth studio album from this Canadian band, veterans of ultra-technical and decidedly brutal death metal. As is often the case, and as is fairly normal, there's only one "survivor" from the original lineup (and in fact, he wasn't in the original lineup, but it's true they went by another name at the time), drummer (a phenomenon, let's be honest) Flo Mounier. Since this is the first time I'm talking about them (though I've listened to them before, admittedly not consistently), to give you an overview, I agree with what most critics say: Cryptopsy is one of those bands that decisively sacrifices melody for sonic violence. And yet, there's method into the chaos.
