The Helm of Sorrow - Emma Ruth Rundle and Thou (2021)

Un po' come nella saggezza popolare ("del maiale non si butta nulla"), dalle nuove e recenti sessioni in studio di Emma Ruth Rundle e i Thou, dopo l'album May Our Chambers Be Full, uscito alla fine di ottobre, è stato tratto anche questo EP composto da quattro tracce, tra le quali una pesantissima (ma bellissima) cover di Hollywood dei Cranberries, uscita già come singolo qualche settimana prima. E' vero che queste quattro tracce non aggiungono nulla a quanto già abbiamo detto (e sentito) in occasione dell'album, di certo questo non ci vieta di goderne appieno, tanto sappiamo che entrambi passeranno ad altre cose rapidamente. Una cosa c'è da sperarla, e cioè che sia ERR che i Thou facciano tesoro dell'esperienza, il che non può che far bene ad entrambi i soggetti. Anche Crone Dance non è affatto male.

A bit like in popular wisdom ("you don't throw anything out of the pig"), from the new and recent studio sessions of Emma Ruth Rundle and Thou, after the album May Our Chambers Be Full, released at the end of October, around the middle of January 2021 was also released this EP consisting of four tracks, including a very heavy (but beautiful) cover of Hollywood by the Cranberries, already released as a single a few weeks earlier. It is true that these four tracks do not add anything to what we have already said (and heard) on the occasion of the album, certainly this does not stop us from fully enjoying them, so much so we know that both will move on to other things quickly. One thing is to be hoped for, and that is that both ERR and Thou will treasure the experience, which can only be good for both subjects. Crone Dance is also not bad at all.
