The World Must Be Destroyed - Arabrot (2021)
Nuovo EP per la creatura di Kjetil Nernes, della quale vi parlai tempo fa in occasione di The Gospel, e che (in tempi pre-pandemici) sono riuscito a perdermi dal vivo solo a causa di una sovrapposizione di impegni. Cinque tracce, in realtà tre, più una intro e uno spoken word particolarissimo in chiusura, dove (debbo dirlo, forse il mio giudizio è influenzato dal fatto che ho avuto uno scambio di opinioni molto breve proprio con Kjetil a proposito di cinema e lockdown) emerge prepotente la teatralità e la propensione cinematografica di Arabrot: le tracce, tutte e cinque, potrebbero benissimo essere la colonna sonora di un film catastrofico, così come suggerisce il titolo. Intendiamoci: quando dicono di picchiare duro, lo fanno. Ma rimangono dei visionari, o dei folli. O entrambe le cose.
New EP for the creature of Kjetil Nernes, of which I told you some time ago on the occasion of The Gospel, and that (in pre-pandemic times) I managed to lose live only due to an overlap of commitments. Five tracks, actually three, plus an intro and a very special spoken word at the end, where (I must say, maybe my opinion is influenced by the fact that I had a very brief exchange of views with Kjetil about cinema and lockdown) Arabrot's theatricality and cinematographic propensity emerges overwhelmingly: the tracks, all five, could very well be the soundtrack of a disaster movie, as the title suggests. Be aware: when they say they hit hard, they do it. But they remain visionaries, or crazy. Or both.
