Suckapunch - You Me at Six (2021)
Ascolto per la prima volta la band di Weybridge, Surrey, UK, con quello che è il loro settimo album. Band in attività dal 2004, il loro genere è un derivato dal pop punk di quello molto leggero, alla Blink-182, ed è influenzato moltissimo dall'attitudine melodica di Panic! at the Disco e Fall Out Boy, e più recentemente, dall'ibrido creato dai conterranei Bring Me the Horizon. Nel disco ci sono undici brani di discreta fattura, ma molto levigati e, seppure molto ascoltabili, mai troppo graffianti o con qualche vero guizzo di genio.
I listen to the band from Weybridge, Surrey, UK for the first time with what is their seventh album. Band in business since 2004, their genre is a derivative of the very light pop punk, Blink-182 style, and is heavily influenced by the melodic attitude of Panic! at the Disco and Fall Out Boy, and more recently, the hybrid created by fellow countrymen Bring Me the Horizon. In the album there are eleven songs of discreet workmanship, but very smooth and, although very listenable, never too scratchy or with some real flash of genius.
