The Things They Believe - Loathe (2021)
Altro album "a sorpresa" questo della giovane band rivelazione inglese, che esce a un anno di distanza dal precedente I Let It In And It Took Everything. Ovviamente, dopo un primo ascolto si capisce il perché: il disco è totalmente strumentale, fatto soprattutto di synth, una sorta di disco ambient. Ci sono collaborazioni particolari, il sassofonista dei The 1975 John Waugh, il chitarrista dei Parting Gift Peter Vybiral. Il disco è affascinante, ma lontanissimo da quello che ci saremmo aspettati dai Loathe, soprattutto dopo la bomba precedente; ci fa capire però che l'immaginazione e la creatività, ai ragazzi, non manca, e che quindi possiamo contare su di loro per altre belle soprese in un prossimo futuro.
Another "surprise" album by the young British "new sensation" band, which comes out one year after the previous I Let It In And It Took Everything. Obviously, after a first listen you understand why: the album is totally instrumental, made above all of synths, a sort of ambient album. There are particular collaborations, The 1975 saxophonist John Waugh, Parting Gift guitarist Peter Vybiral. The record is fascinating, but very far from what we would have expected from Loathe, especially after the previous bomb; however, it makes us understand that the kids are not lacking in imagination and creativity, and therefore we can count on them for other beautiful surprises in the near future.
