Personaggio del quale avevo sempre solo sentito parlare senza mai approfondire, Moriah Rose Pereira in arte Poppy è catalogata come cantante, compositrice, musicista, youtuber e leader religiosa, è nata 26 anni fa a Boston, Massachusetts ed è cresciuta a Nashville, Tennessee, con la passione per la danza e completando gli studi in homeschooling visto che a scuola veniva bullizzata per essere magrissima e taciturna. Ha perfino interpretato il pilot di una serie web a suo nome, e da qualche mese è fidanzata con Ghostemane. Il genere col quale ha cominciato, musicalmente, è un pop moderno, ma già dal secondo disco ha cominciato ad inglobare influenze nu metal, e questo terzo disco dà largo spazio proprio a quelle, risultando un qualcosa di molto simile alle Babymetal o anche a Rina Sawayama; Pitchfork, parlando di questo disco, cita Kinks, Slipknot, Grimes e i The Body. Quello che voglio dire è che sicuramente, al momento la sua musica non è il massimo, è qualcosa di molto kitsch, ma chissà che lavorandoci sopra, non ne esca il futuro.
