Maere - Harakiri for the Sky (2021)

Ed ecco il successore di Arson, Maere (una parola in inglese antico e in danese, dai molteplici significati, tra i quali ho "scelto" quello che mi ispirava maggiormente, per il titolo di questo post), per il duo austriaco, che, guarda caso (ne parlavamo appunto con la recensione del disco precedente), infilano nella scaletta proprio una collaborazione con Alcest, Sing for the Damage We've Done, ovviamente molto bella. Confermo tutto quello di buono che avevo detto su di loro, approccio "aggressivo ma ordinato" per un blackgaze davvero al tempo stesso robusto e piacevole all'ascolto, e si apprezzano gli sforzi per ricercare personalità diverse per ogni traccia. Disco molto buono.

And here is Arson's successor, Maere (a word in Old English and Danish, with multiple meanings, among which I "chose" the one that inspired me most, for the title of this post), for the Austrian duo, who, coincidentally (we were talking about it with the review of the previous album), they put a collaboration with Alcest, Sing for the Damage We've Done, obviously very beautiful, in the set list. I confirm all the good that I said about them, "aggressive but tidy" approach for a blackgaze that is really robust and pleasant to listen to, and we appreciate the efforts to find different personalities for each track. Very good record.
