Ecco quindi che con questo suo ottavo album, la biondina dell'Oklahoma, così dice lei, ha smarcato un paio di cose che avrebbe voluto fare da sempre: un disco di Natale (il precedente), e uno di Gospel, di inni cristiani. C'è tutto, perfino la chiusura con Amazing Grace, e un duetto con CeCe Winans, una specie di asso pigliatutto dell'American gospel. La voce della Underwood non è in discussione, come pure la suggestività di questa lista di traditional religiosi: è il senso che mi sfugge, ma come detto, era uno sfizio che voleva togliersi, è bene ha fatto. Passiamo oltre.

So with this eighth album of hers, the little blonde from Oklahoma, so she says, has checked a couple of boxes she always wanted to do: a Christmas record (the previous one), and a Gospel record, of Christian hymns. There is everything, even the closing with Amazing Grace, and a duet with CeCe Winans, a kind of catch-all ace of American gospel. Underwood's voice is not in question, as well as the suggestiveness of this list of religious traditional: it is the sense that escapes me, but as I said, it was a whim that she wanted to take off, it is good she did. Let's move on.
