A tre anni dal precedente Circo Soledad, intervallato dal live Circo Soledad: en vivo, ecco il sedicesimo disco in studio del guatemalteco Arjona, del quale vi ho parlato più volte. Registrato ai mitici Abbey Road Studios, prima parte di un progetto che si dovrebbe completare l'anno prossimo con Negro, uscito alla fine di luglio del 2020 contro il parere della Sony Music (non è l'anno giusto, frase sibillina che, con la sua solita ironia riprende nella traccia No es el momento), Blanco è la conferma della versatilità di un artista che sicuramente non diverrà mai famoso dalle nostre parti, ma che attira folle oceaniche in Latino America, e che conta su una base di fan agguerritissimi (e soprattutto agguerritissime); più di altre volte scopre le sue radici blues e rock, lasciando da parte le influenze latine. Nonostante tutto, non mi è parso uno dei suoi dischi più riusciti. Certo, non è Bob Dylan, neppure quello Latino Americano, come si lascia scappare NBC News in questa recensione, ma come detto in precedenti recensioni, le sue liriche non lasciano mai indifferenti, e sa come scrivere una canzone pop.
