Non sentendomi preparato come su altri generi sull'hip hop, soprattutto quello "moderno", mi rincuora che NME la pensi più o meno come me. L'impressione che fa questo suo secondo disco è esattamente quello della raschiatura del barile, nonostante anche questa volta i numeri siano dalla sua parte: 500 milioni di visualizzazioni del singolo GOOBA, uscito in Aprile mentre lui era sempre in prigione, parlano da sé. Ma siamo qui per provare a capire, e pure a fare i cosiddetti avvocati del diavolo: il suo stile aggressivo (scream rap, hardcore hip hop, punk rap e drill), appunto quello del singolo in questione, sembra quello che gli riesce meglio, mentre il disco in questione è un'accozzaglia di incursioni in altri generi, che non convince pienamente e lascia dei dubbi sulla sua vena compositiva. Molti ospiti, tra i quali spicca Nicki Minaj, ma come fa correttamente notare ancora NME, molti meno rispetto al disco di debutto (segno di maggior confidenza, ma al tempo stesso, si nota che senza ospiti la qualità si abbassa).
Not feeling as prepared as on other genres when we talk about hip hop, especially the "modern" one, it heartens me that NME think more or less like me on the new 6ix9ine. The impression that his second album makes is exactly that of the scraping of the barrel, although this time too the numbers are on his side: 500 million views of the single GOOBA, released in April while he was always in prison, speak for themselves. But we are here to try to understand, and also to be the so-called devil's advocates: his aggressive style (scream rap, hardcore hip hop, punk rap and drill), precisely that of the single in question, seems to be what he does best, while the album we are talking about is a jumble of forays into other genres, which does not fully convince and leaves doubts about his compositional vein. Many guests, among which Nicki Minaj stands out, but as NME still correctly points out, far fewer than the debut album (a sign of greater confidence, but at the same time, we notice that without guests the quality drops).
