Loverboy / Dog Days - Miserable (2018)
Il lavoro al momento più recente di una delle tante persona musicali di Kristina Esfandiari, in questo caso Miserable, visto che questa uscita del 2018 racchiude l'effettivo EP del 2018 Loverboy insieme a quello del 2014 Dog Days, è composto da otto tracce che partono da una sorta di attitudine molto shoegaze, ma naturalmente hanno molte altre sfumature (tenete presente che Kristina spazia, da, appunto, lo shoegaze al doom metal, dall'RNB al rap, dallo sperimentale al noise), anche più "dure". Quel che ne esce è una impressionante padronanza della composizione, e un altrettanto sbalorditivo trasformismo vocale ed interpretativo. E, so che dopo tutto questo vi sembrerà impossibile, ma questo doppio EP riesce a suonare sorprendentemente omogeneo. L'ho "scoperta" colpevolmente in ritardo, ma questa artista merita attenzione.
The most recent work of one of the many musical persona of Kristina Esfandiari, in this case Miserable, as this 2018 release contains the actual 2018 EP Loverboy along with that of 2014 Dog Days, is composed of eight tracks that start from a sort of very shoegaze attitude, but of course they have many other nuances (keep in mind that Kristina ranges from shoegaze to doom metal, from RNB to rap, from experimental to noise), even more "hard". What emerges is an impressive mastery of composition, and an equally astounding vocal and interpretative transformation. And, I know this will seem impossible after all, but this double EP manages to sound surprisingly smooth and homogeneous. I guilty "discovered" her late, but this artist deserves attention.
