Clairvoyant - The Contortionist (2017)

Oggi parliamo di questa band di Indianapolis, Indiana, il cui ultimo album, Clairvoyant, risale al 2017. Il disco segnava una sorta di ammorbidimento del suono, e l'uso esclusivo del cantato pulito, ulteriore tappa del cammino che li ha portati fino a questo punto, partendo da un deathcore iniziale, quando ancora si chiamavano At the Hands of Machines. Affascinati da tematiche spaziali, hanno dunque abbandonato pian piano l'elemento "death" per mettere a frutto ottime capacità tecniche, per arrivare ad un metal robusto e progressivo di grande atmosfera, anche attraverso alcuni cambi di formazione. Riferimenti, per avere un'idea, possono essere senza dubbio i Leprous e i Between the Buried and Me.

Today we are talking about this band from Indianapolis, Indiana, whose last album, Clairvoyant, dates back to 2017. The record marked a sort of softening of the sound, and the exclusive use of clean singing, another step on the path that led them up to this point, starting from an initial deathcore, when they were still called At the Hands of Machines. Fascinated by space and interstellar themes, they have therefore gradually abandoned the "death" element to take advantage of excellent technical skills, to arrive at a robust and progressive metal with a great atmosphere, also through some line-up changes. References, to get an idea, can undoubtedly be Leprous and Between the Buried and Me.
