Nonostante non mi avesse entusiasmato più di tanto, come ricorderete dalla recensione di Love Monster del 2018, la 34enne nativa di Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, ha un viso di quelli che ispira simpatia. Metteteci dentro il fatto che il titolo di questo suo nuovo disco (il secondo, ma in realtà il quarto, se considerate che nel 2010 e nel 2012 fece uscire due dischi con il nome di Amy Cushway) è un inside joke tra noi che amiamo la musica triste, e l'ascolto risulta obbligato. Il risultato non cambia: il pop di Shark, moderno, fortemente influenzato dall'hip hop e dal pop punk (tra l'altro, dopo aver duettato con Mark Hoppus nel disco precedente, qua c'è C'mon con Travis Barker), è di sicuro ed immediato impatto, ma alla fine lascia poco addosso. Apoteosi (della scontatezza) con Love Songs Ain't for Us, scritta a quattro mani con Ed Sheeran e cantata in duetto con il signor Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban.

While it didn't get me too excited, as you may recall from the 2018 Love Monster review, the 34-year-old native of Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, has a face that inspires sympathy. Put into it the fact that the title of this new album (the second, but actually the fourth, if you consider that in 2010 and 2012 she released two discs under the name of Amy Cushway) is an inside joke between us who love sad music, and listening is obligatory. The result does not change: Shark's pop, modern, strongly influenced by hip hop and pop punk (among other things, after having a duet with Mark Hoppus on the previous album, here is C'mon with Travis Barker), it is of sure and immediate impact, but in the end it leaves little on. Apotheosis (of predictability) with Love Songs Ain't for Us, co-written with Ed Sheeran and sung in a duet with Mr. Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban.
