Come My Love - Nicole Sabouné (2019)
Da qualche tempo volevo parlarvi, ed approfondire i miei ascolti fino a poco tempo fa piuttosto frettolosi, di questa cantautrice svedese di Solvesborg, classe 1991. Si fa conoscere in patria tramite un talent, che però abbandona volontariamente nonostante fosse arrivata in semifinale, per cominciare a scrivere musica propria, insieme ad un paio di musicisti svedesi (Ola Salo dei The Ark e Niklas Stenemo). Influenzata da rock, punk e new wave, ha modificato il suo approccio fino a questo EP contenente quattro tracce molto belle e intense, che inesorabilmente ricordano Zola Jesus, e non per niente, ho scovato il suo nome in un articolo che parlava dei nuovi nomi femminili che si vanno ad aggiungere al calderone del cosiddetto death gospel. La ragazza sta senza dubbio lavorando a qualcosa di nuovo, essendo uscito anche il singolo Come Along nel 2020, traccia che prosegue lungo questo percorso.
For some time I wanted to talk to you, and deepen my listening until recently rather hasty, of this Swedish singer-songwriter from Solvesborg, born in 1991. She makes herself known at home through a talent show, but she voluntarily leaves despite having reached the semifinal, to begin with to write his own music, together with a couple of Swedish musicians (Ola Salo from The Ark and Niklas Stenemo). Influenced by rock, punk and new wave, she modified her approach up to this EP containing four very beautiful and intense tracks, which inexorably remind of Zola Jesus, and not for nothing, I found her name in an article that talked about the new names of female musicians who are added to the cauldron of the so-called death gospel. The girl is undoubtedly working on something new, having also released the single Come Along in 2020, a track that continues along this path.
