Quoto direttamente dalla sempre ottima encyclopaedia metallum aka metal archives: "Il progetto ha perseguito una trilogia concettuale basata sulle esperienze di comportamento del neurobiologo francese Henri Laborit sui ratti, soprattutto di fronte all'aggressione. Ciascuno dei primi tre album è quindi una parte relativa a quei passaggi specifici; attraverso una gamma di materiali disparati, legati insieme da quel concetto di base. Dopo queste pubblicazioni, il progetto ha iniziato ad avvicinarsi agli scritti del filosofo, teologo, poeta e critico sociale danese Søren Kierkegaard." Ecco quindi cosa c'è, alla base teorica di questo Johannes, quarto album di questo quartetto francese (dove i membri si identificano con sole due iniziali). C'è chi li avvicina ai conterranei Blut aus Nord, e tutto sommato, non è solo una questione geografica: qua siamo sempre nel campo del black metal, c'è un po' meno sperimentazione, ma c'è lo stesso gusto gotico e, se volete, quasi ecclesiastico (se non sembrasse un paradosso) nella ricerca delle armonie corali. A tratti, mi hanno ricordato i Batushka di Krysiuk, forse più "ordinati".

So here is what lies at the theoretical basis of this Johannes, the fourth album of this French quartet (where the members identify themselves with only two initials). There are those who approach them to their fellow countrymen Blut aus Nord, and all in all, it is not just a geographical question: here we are always in the field of black metal, there is a little less experimentation, but there is the same gothic taste and , if you like, almost ecclesiastical (if it didn't seem like a paradox) in the search for choral harmonies. At times, they reminded me of Krysiuk's Batushka, perhaps more "orderly".
