René Pérez Joglar, nato a Hato Rey, San Juan, Puerto Rico, 42 anni orsono, cantante, compositore, produttore, fondatore dei già citati (su fassbinder) Calle 13, dopo lo scioglimento della band si è "messo in proprio", e questo è il suo album di debutto. Da sempre sensibile su importanti temi sociali, attivista, benefattore, attento all'importanza dell'educazione, è sempre stato uno che ha dato eguale importanza alla musica: basta scorrere la sua bio e vedere con chi ha collaborato, per capire. Disco scritto e registrato in giro per il mondo, con collaborazioni particolarissime e curiose (Bombino, Lin-Manuel Miranda, SoKo, Goran Bregović), e musicisti da studio mica da poco (Omar Rodríguez-López è da un bel po' un collaboratore fidato), il tutto "profuma" di viaggio, di varie sfumature, di certo non solo latino-americane. Disco interessante, artista da tenere d'occhio.

Interesting record, artist to keep an eye on.
