Il dodicesimo album della creatura di Jamie Stewart, è un disco di duetti. Naturalmente, anche per me che non sono estremamente preparato sugli Xiu Xiu, potete immaginarvi che non si tratta certo di un disco "normale". Lo stesso leader della band ha aggiunto in un'intervista, che "le caratteristiche dell'album riflettono le persone che lo hanno aiutato a capire che il rapporto tra esseri umani belli e persone di merda è più simile a 60/40, e non quello che aveva sempre pensato, 1/99". Certo, il mood invece, riflette ancora un approccio abbastanza nichilista, oltre che sperimentale. Le composizioni sono tutte originali, escluso una cover dei The Cure (One Hundred Years), con Chelsea Wolfe. Gli ospiti sono, inoltre, Sharon Van Etten, Drab Majesty, Haley Fohr, Greg Saunier, Susanne Sachsse, Liars, Owen Pallett, Fabrizio Modonese Palumbo, Shearwater, Twin Shadow, Alice Bag, Liz Harris, Valerie Diaz. Ostico inizialmente, c'è una bellezza innegabile dietro al muro elettronico imbastito dalla band, una bellezza che le tante partecipazioni aiutano solo a far apparire più scintillanti, o meglio, oscure e contorte.
