Album di debutto, questo Mirrors, per i londinesi Pupil Slicer, che punta a raggiungere le vette, forse inarrivabili, dei Dillinger Escape Plan. E' un mathcore decisamente brutale, tecnico, ruvido ma mai casuale, un disco dove tracce al fulmicotone addirittura inferiori al minuto di durata, convivono con altre ben oltre i sei minuti, ripercorrendo, appunto, le orme dei già citati maestri del genere. Nella conclusiva Collective Unconscious si notano perfino velleità alla Deafheaven: direi che con un poco di personalità in più, questi giovani possono fare grandi cose.

Debut album, this Mirrors, for Londoners Pupil Slicer, which aims to reach the perhaps unattainable heights of the Dillinger Escape Plan. It is a decidedly brutal, technical, rough but never casual mathcore, a record where killer tracks even less than one minute in duration, coexist with others well beyond six minutes, retracing, in fact, the footsteps of the aforementioned masters of the genre. In the concluding Collective Unconscious we can even see Deafheaven ambitions: I would say that with a little more personality, these young people can do great things.
