Ci sono voluti nove anni, a Paul Van Haver in arte Stromae, per dare seguito al suo secondo album Racine carrée, che ha cementato il successo straordinario già acquisito con gli strascichi del debutto Cheese del 2010. Questo suo terzo lavoro lascia a bocca aperta per la miriade di influenze che riesce ad infilare in soli 36 minuti scarsi (12 tracce). Non voglio darvi imbeccate, se siete curiosi come me, di fronte ai crossover di ogni genere, è bene che ascoltiate e le scopriate da soli, sarà un piacere. A livello lirico mi pare di poter dire che l'influenza di Jacques Brel non è un segreto per nessuno (non lo ha mai negato, anzi), e, tralasciando quanti singoli riuscirà a tirare fuori da questo disco (per adesso sono due, ma ce ne sono sicuramente almeno altri due o tre), come vi dicevo poc'anzi, è il melting pot (crossover, chiamatelo come volete) che mi affascina nella sua musica, anche se non è esattamente il genere che mi esalta di più.

It took Paul Van Haver aka Stromae nine years to follow up on his second album Racine carrée, which cemented the extraordinary success already acquired with the aftermath of his 2010 debut Cheese. This third work of his leaves you speechless for the myriad of influences that he manages to put in just 36 minutes (12 tracks). I don't want to give you tips, if you are curious like me, in front of crossovers of all kinds, it is good that you listen and discover them for yourself, it will be a pleasure. On a lyrical level I think I can say that Jacques Brel's influence is no secret (he has never denied it, on the contrary), and, leaving aside how many singles he will be able to pull out of this record (for now they are two, but there are certainly at least two or three others), as I said earlier, it is the melting pot (crossover, call it what you want) that fascinates me in its music, even if it is not exactly the genre that excites me the most.
