Scar Weaver - Once Human (2022)

Convinto di aver ascoltato il loro secondo album (e invece era il primo), posso intanto dirvi che lo stile degli Once Human si è leggermente modificato (in meglio, secondo il mio gusto) rispetto al loro debutto del 2015. Le trame si sono assestate su ritmiche che sono più djent che groove, annullati gli orpelli che tendevano al melodic death metal, mentre la tecnica vocale di Lauren Hart si è possibilmente affinata, ed è davvero impressionante, conservando la potenza nelle parti growl, e dimostrando gusto nelle rare parti quasi pulite. Un disco massiccio, non troppo originale nel complesso, ma assolutamente godibile per gli amanti del genere.

Convinced that I have listened to their second album (and instead it was the first), I can tell you that the style of Once Human has changed slightly (for the better, according to my taste) compared to their debut in 2015. The plots have settled on rhythms that are more djent than groove, canceled the trappings that tended to melodic death metal, while Lauren Hart's vocal technique has possibly refined, and is really impressive, retaining the power in the growl parts, and demonstrating taste in the rare parts almost clean. A massive record, not too original on the whole, but absolutely enjoyable for lovers of the genre.
