Elèo - Selva (2016)
Titillato dall'amico Beach, parliamo di qualche band italiana che merita menzione anche se non con materiale nuovissimo, e partiamo dai lodigiani Selva, o, se volete, ['selvə], e del loro al momento secondo album, dopo il debutto Life Habitual del 2014. Questo eléo, composto da sole quattro tracce per un totale di 32 minuti, è un buon album dove trovano posto un black metal piuttosto scandinavo, post hardcore e post metal, e un'attitudine shoegaze che a molti ricorda i primi Deafheaven. Un lavoro se volete ancora grezzo, ma forse anche volutamente, pesante, aggressivo, a tratti suggestivo nella sua malinconica oscurità, da non trascurare.
Titillated by my friend Beach, let's talk about some Italian band that deserves mention even if not with brand new material, and let's start with this band from Lodi (Milan), Selva, or, if you like, ['selve], and their currently second album, after the debut Life Habitual from 2014. This eléo, made up of only four tracks for a total of 32 minutes, is a good album featuring a rather Scandinavian black metal, post hardcore and post metal, and a shoegaze attitude that, to many, can reminds of the early Deafheaven. A work if you still want it rough, perhaps also deliberately, heavy, aggressive, at times suggestive in its melancholy darkness, not to be overlooked.
