Zero and Below - Crowbar (2022)

Dodicesimo album in studio per la band di New Orleans, Louisiana, capitanata come da sempre da Kirk Windstein (voce e chitarra ritmica), e che introduce il nuovo bassista Shane Wesley. Come detto più volte in passato, ci sono band che ci piacciono perché oltrepassano i limiti ed osano, e ci sono band che ci piacciono perché riescono a fare buoni dischi senza cambiare troppo i loro parametri. I Crowbar fanno parte della seconda categoria, anche questo disco è, almeno per me, assolutamente piacevole da ascoltare, totalmente riconoscibile, i riff sono sempre bellissimi, granitici, e continuano a pagare dazio ai Black Sabbath e a Tony Iommi, le coordinate, insomma, sono sempre le stesse, come avrete capito, e ci fanno stare in pace con la nostra metallomania. Sappiamo che non possiamo chiedere di più, ai Crowbar.

Twelfth studio album for the band from New Orleans, Louisiana, leaded as always by Kirk Windstein (vocals and rhythm guitar), and that introducing new bassist Shane Wesley. As said several times in the past, there are bands that we like because they push the boundaries and dare, and there are bands that we like because they manage to make good records without changing their parameters too much. Crowbar are part of the second category, even this record is, at least for me, absolutely pleasant to listen to, totally recognizable, the riffs are always beautiful, granite, and continue to pay respect to Black Sabbath and Tony Iommi, the coordinates, in short, they are always the same, as you will have understood, and they make us feel at peace with our metallomania. We know we can't ask for more of the Crowbar.
