Prima che tutto bruci - Øjne (2017)
Oggi invece parliamo dei milanesi Øjne, e del loro debutto del 2017 Prima che tutto bruci, un disco che mi fa tornare in mente un sacco di band hardcore dei primi anni '90, Negazione compresi, con una voce urlata che trasmette frustrazione e disagio, liriche molto belle, e che musicalmente partono dallo stesso hardcore, e, caricandosi di tutto quello che è venuto dopo (shoegaze, post rock e metal, emo, metalcore, e continuate voi la lista), danno vita all'ennesimo ibrido, che però, da un sacco di soddisfazione all'ascolto. Certo, fuori dall'Italia ci sono molte band che più o meno, suonano cose del genere, ma la cosa è incoraggiante (fino ad un certo punto, visto che dal 2017 non sono più riusciti a far uscire granché, e sicuramente non è colpa loro, chi ha orecchie per intendere...), e band come queste vanno supportate.
Today instead we talk about the band from Milan, Øjne, and their 2017 debut Prima che tutto bruci, a record that reminds me of a lot of hardcore bands from the early 90s, including Negazione, with a screaming voice that conveys frustration and discomfort, very beautiful lyrics, and that musically start from the same hardcore, and, loading itself with everything that came after (shoegaze, post rock and metal, emo, metalcore, and you continue the list), give life to yet another hybrid, which however, gives a lot of satisfaction to listening. Of course, outside of Italy there are many bands that more or less play things like this, but this is encouraging (up to a certain point, given that since 2017 they have not been able to release much anymore, and certainly it is not the fault them, who has ears to hear ...), and bands like these must be supported.
